Clean without working against yourself
Step 1
Clear and ventilate
Remove toiletries, mats, bins, and loose storage; open safe ventilation and put on appropriate protective equipment.
Step 2
Start dry and high
Dust reachable vents, ledges, window areas, lighting exteriors, and cupboard tops before wetting lower surfaces.
Step 3
Treat wet zones
Use suitable products on shower, bath, basin, tiles, grout, fittings, mirrors, and toilet areas according to label instructions.
Step 4
Rinse, dry, inspect
Remove residue, dry reflective surfaces and fittings, then finish storage, edges, skirting, and floor.
Details to include in the scope
- Shower glass, door tracks, screens, seals, fittings, shelves, and accessible drain cover.
- Bath edges, basin overflow, tap bases, vanity fronts, drawers, and cupboard interiors.
- Toilet seat hinges, exterior surfaces, base area, nearby wall, holder, and floor edges.
- Mirrors, windowsills, reachable ventilation cover, switches, handles, and towel fittings.
- Laundry fixtures or a separate toilet if they sit outside the main bathroom.
Mould and damaged sealant need care
Surface spotting and significant mould are not the same issue. Widespread or recurring mould can indicate moisture or building problems and may require property management or specialist assessment rather than stronger household chemicals.
Discoloured, failed, or missing sealant and grout may not improve through cleaning. Avoid scraping, repainting, or replacing material unless that work has been authorised and assigned to an appropriate person.
Never mix bathroom chemicals
Different products can react dangerously. Follow labels, ventilate as instructed, keep products in their original containers, and rinse only as directed before changing products.
